For most people, a lack of space in the jaw prevents the wisdom teeth from coming in properly.

The teeth become stuck, or impacted, which can result in a number of problems including pain, infection and bone-loss around neighbouring teeth.

Wisdom tooth removal is usually considered when a patient is in his/her late teens. By this age, the teeth are formed but with short roots. A panoramic x-ray is required to confirm the formation and position of the wisdom teeth. In some cases, a more detailed dental CT scan may also be necessary to confirm specific details of a tooth’s position.

As every situation is unique, Dr.Joslin will review your case and suggest a suitable treatment plan regarding the wisdom teeth.
